Had the IUI but I already O'd.

This cycle is not coming along the way I thought a normal one would, that's for sure. I'm not complaining, just saying I didn't' expect to go in 6 days in a row to the RE or to have the IUI after I O'd.

Had the trigger yesterday at 8am(ish). Follies at 23 and 18. Today I went in at 8am and at the u/s, the RE says "there's the one on your right, it hasn't grown from 18....and on your left, you O'd that one, that's great!" Huh? I thought the point of IUI was to get the swimmers there before I O'd. He said "no, this is good, the egg is good for 24 hours, I think a bit more actually." Ok, I trust him. He said that the one on the right (at 18mm) could go either way whether it would release an egg or not, and that if so, the trigger would get that one to ovulate. This is all so confusing for me! All I know is that the RE and nurse both felt this was a great situation and timing, I'll go with it!

I didn't feel a thing, and the numbers were fine with 30mil and 100% motility.

Back tomorrow to see if I O'd the other one.

Oh and I *knew* I was O'ing late last night (or early this AM, I honestly don't remember) on my left side because I got extremely bloated on the left side and when I'd press down on it, it hurt. It lasted on and off for about an hour or more. I've never felt O pains before being on Clomid and Femara.

I don't know what to think. Six appointments is a lot for a cycle with femara but it is what is. Some actually benefit from having the egg waiting, I hope this is the case for you.

Glad everything went well though! Why is he having you go back tomrorow to see if it released? Is he concerned?

He's having me go back tomorrow to do the 2nd iui! I guess whether I O the 2nd follicle or not by the time of the 2nd iui, he still wants there to be swimmers for that one. But he did say that this first iui was the more important one.

Wow I am so sorry hun this cycle was so crazy for you! I would trust your Dr and I have my fingers crossed that at the end of this crazy cycle you will get your BFP! Good luck tomorrow!

I would totally trust your doc on this, but I guess my first thought after reading that is will that one still release? It was my understanding that rarely happens; that once you O, that's it. Whatever didn't release at that time either gets absorbed or can potentially become a cyst. Again, I could be talking out my ass for all I know.

If you do push that sucker out, good luck with IUI #2!! lol

I asked about that and he said it could go either way whether that 2nd follie would release or not, 50/50, and that it would be on the safe side to follow up with a second iui. I figure why the heck not (aside from my $260 of course).

I just kind of wish my cycle was more predictable, I feel like it's been a clusterfvck all week!

Like you, I also had my IUI after ovulation this cycle (very likely within 12 hours after ovulation). I was really stressed out about it, but the doctor seemed to think the timing was great. Good luck to you this cycle!

And LGLDVM - yes, I believe I O'd the night before or the early morning of my iui. I really do think that I was surging before the trigger though, as my opk was dark, but not AS dark, as the test line.
