Thanks! I just got this phone and still am trying to figure out everything on the droid fascinate. I saw a few of you in an earlier post mention this app and I appreciate it. I have it on my phone now and love it. It gives me more reassurance to know its there i guess. Thanks bumpies!!
Re: Thanks to the girls who mentioned the android app (my days)
It's a nice way to start out and get an idea of what your cycle length might look like. Please don't trust it when it tells you your possible o day and so on, since it assumes that you have a 28 day cycle with o on day 14. The only way to confirm your o without a dr is by charting your temperatures (www.fertilityfriend.com).
Good luck! (I love my droid, too!
)
Your welcome! Yes it is a nice app, I use it to track AF, and record my temps until I get to FF. --just to remind you it bases the fertile window on the "average" woman's cycle. It might work out that you are in that window. Thankfully I am in that window, but I also backed it up with OPK's and temping this month. --so I wouldnt soley rely on that app, but yes it is fun!
YEAH for a new phone!! Here are some other appsI love:
Advanced Task Killer (savesbattery and hands down must have)
Flashlight
Angry birds (fun and addicting)
Google maps (if it is not alreadypre-installed)
Pandora
Robo Defense (fun game)
Try using the mobile version of fertility friend instead. Just go to this url:
https://www.fertilityfriend.com/m/
It is so much easier to use on the droid than the normal version.
Someone packed their angry eyes today
Just kidding.
OP- I hope you will get comfortable enough to start charting. It may seem like a lot but it is really easy.
I am not bitchy actually. I get annoyed that I and a few others gave you sound advice and you chose to ignore us and listen to the newbs giving you terrible advice.
not all your fault. 50% you 50% them.
If you want support, get one of these:
We can certainly give you advice, but you'll need to look for support elsewhere.
I dont think anyone gave OP sound advice to ONLY use said app. Some girls just do not want to temp, and that is up to them. I added that I did not temp for the last few cycles but this cycle I did and glad I did! I know I posted that it predicts the "average" woman's cycle not necessarily her's, and she wont know unless she temps. She was just thanking us for bringing this app to her attention.
It is funny how there is a pretty clear line dividing the girls who temp and the girls who dont. With some of the girls who temp looking down on the ones who dont. If she only wants to use this, and solely relies on it then GL to her. JMO
I am done

it's not a "what app do you use" based post or anything though.
THIS...Jefa get out of my head. You really have a great way to get your thoughts across. When I try it turns out all sorts of wrong.
PS Rein, great PIP, made me LOL--I know I need that bra every once in awhile
See jefa's post.
I agree.
I "winged it" for the first 6 months, too and only started charting my temperatures when I started cycle #7. I wasn't ready to start charting yet and just wanted to take it easy in the beginning. I can say now that neither charting nor not charting has gotten me pregnant yet.
HAHAHAHAHAHA ... I'm guessing Victoria's Secret doesn't carry these!!!!
I was responding to Jefa's post at the same time you posted this...I did, and her post was Perfect!
I use my days to record my temps until i get to FF and track AF.. just dont count on the ovulation detector on there!
Good Luck!
I totally agree Daysie. Suggesting that people should use Fertility Friend doesn't mean you have to chart your temps, too. You can just chart CM, CP, symptoms and/or OPKs. It is still more reliable than guessing about your O date based on the calendar. That's all that people were saying and their advice was valid.
People that are "new" say they come here for support and answers. Great but, if you're going to ignore the answers or suggestions, then no one is going to want to bother to answer in the future. Don't get bent out of shape if they tell you that.
I starting using My Days when I first got my Droid about a year ago to try and track my menstrual cycles and when DH and I DTD. At the time, I didn't think I ovulated at all since my cycles were extremely irregular. I just wanted something to help me better predict when AF would arrive. My Days was great for that. After a few months, it adjusted to what my average cycle length was rather than the 28 day "normal cycle". I have since added OPKs, BBT, and FertilityFriend (FF) to my TTC arsenal of tools and have learned that I actually do ovulate. I like FF in that it analyzes all of your stats and evaluates them for possible fertility and pregnancy and that it is more user-friendly than MyDays for charting specifics. But, I feel that MyDays is better at predicting my cycles (when I will will be fertile and when AF should arrive). With my irregular cycles (ranging from 22-73 days), no program is going to be perfect for me, but MyDays was RIGHT ON with my fertile days this month whereas FF is WAY OFF. (OPKs and CM confirm MyDays' prediction that I'm in my fertile period now whereas FF says I won't be fertile until next week. I'm still waiting on my thermal shift for FF to confirm O day).
I agree with others in this post that serious TTCers should chart their BBT and, IMHO, FF is better for that. But, don't discount MyDays completely. It still has some valid uses, especially for the "casual TTCer" or someone who just wants to get a better handle on their cycles. I still use it in conjuction with FF to give me the most amount of data possible. Plus, its not impossible to get pregnant without charting BBT. Some couples are just lucky that way. Unfortunatly for women like me, we're not that lucky.
As for a supportive message board, I have found that BabyAndBump.com is filled with very supportive women. I came across this board by googling "MyDays vs. FF" b/c of the accuracy difference I noticed. Everyone on BnB seems to understand that TTC is a confusing, stressful, and emotional process and that we all have questions and are trying to learn more to improve our chances of conceiving. With any advice, no matter where it comes from, people have the right to take it or leave it. As my mother would say "I can only offer you my advice. What you choose to do with it is up to you."
