PP weightloss?

I gained 37lbs during my pregnancy and had my daughter 2 1/2 weeks ago...I was a normal healthy weight before and excersised a lot.  I ended up having a c-section b/c she was breech so I can't do any working out yet.  So far I've dropped 20 of those 37lbs but the weigh loss has come to a stand still the last 2-3 days.  I was wondering if I could still expect more weight to fall off in the next few weeks or is this it and the rest I'll have to work out to loose?  It's weird b/c my belly looks fairly flat and I really don't feel like I have another 17lbs on me.

I was just wondering if those who are further along in the PP period then me can let me know what to expect b/c it's killing me that I can't do any sort of physical activity yet.

TIA

Re: PP weightloss?

  • I lost all my baby weight within a month, and ALL I did was breastfeed.  I didn't have the energy for any actual exercise!!!  I did not work out regularly before pregnancy either, and I had gained 27 lbs while pregnant.

  • I lost about 20 lbs like you, with about 15-20 more to go until I was back to PP weight. I still haven't lost all those pounds, but with diet alone I've been losing (no exercise). I need to get into a workout routine but I don't have a sportsbra for these new boobs of mine....

  • I gained 29 lb and lost 11 the first week, and was down 18 the second week... then nothing. The last 11 aren't budging despite pretty healthy eating, EBFing, and some light exercise.

Sorry that's not encouraging. I think I'll really have to tighten up my eating and hit the gym hard to see any changes. Sad

This almost exactly.  I finally got to go to the gym this week, so hopefully the pounds will start coming off!

  • Our babies were born on the same day I think!  I'm down a little more than you are (by like 4 pounds) but plateaued as well.  Guess I'll wait and see what happens.  Hopefully the BF will continue to help the pounds melt off :)
