Most of DS' clothes are onesies and pants. I really don't like putting him in regular shirts. I don't know why - maybe because it's cold and the shirts don't stay put. But he is starting to get really long and the onesies aren't fitting so well anymore so I ultimately will have to switch over.
Do you still use onesies (or one piece shirts/outfits) to dress LO or are you pretty much away from those now and just use a regular shirt and pants/skirt?
Why am I neurotic about this?
Re: Do you still dress LO in onesies? *clicky*
I think I'll start doing shirts when she begans potty training...
she would mess with the shirt and also, I think it helps with the diaper. DD has chunky legs so I had to move to a size up and the onesie keeps it sort of in place.
I'll do onesie + tshirt sometimes..
I often put a long sleeve white onesie with a short sleeve polo or t-shirt over it. I don't like his belly hanging out, but he has so many cute shirts. Best of both worlds...
:-)
We do onesies under shirts. His belly hangs out otherwise and it's so cold out that I like him to have lots of layers on.
Abe's in Carter's 18 month size and they seem to fit well. Actually, he can still fit into some 12 month sizes, too. He was 29.75 inches and 22lbs 10oz at his nine month appt.

I found "magic" socks! We found Hanes socks in toddler sizes at Target. They are definitely casual socks, but DS hasn't been able to pull them off yet!
Ditto this. He even sleeps in a onsie under his jammies. I think of them as undershirts.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too! It's FREE and EASY!
I only use onesies to bounce back and forth to my moms or mil's house. If we are going out he dresses in a t-shirt and pants. The onesie underneath depends on the weather. He gets hot easy and too many layers is not good for him.
I guess I'm the only one who likes his little "buddah" hanging out. It's not always out, but I love it when it does peak out.
I think its just a matter of preference. My DS never had any onesie outfits ever as an infant and toddler. I like clothes that look like little men's clothes. I always dressed him in a polo shirt or t-shirt with pants or shorts.
The majority of LO's clothes are onesies & pants or one-piece outfits. We have a few shirts & pants outfits but it's really cold here and I like that onesies keep her completely covered.

I am completely obsessed with keeping LO's tummy and back covered since it is so cold. I was saying the other day that I don't know why this matters so much, but it does. So...if he is wearing a regular shirt, we always put a short/sleeve undershirt underneath.
Carter's has bigger sizes - about the only ones that I have found that are true to size.
Same here. I can't find onesies over 12m though anywhere but Gap - and they are $15 a onesie. It is crazy!
This exactly, DS always has two layers on whether that's a onesie and an open belly shirt or a onesie and a cuter/nicer onesie.
If we're leaving the house he'll have a onesie on so as to prevent the bare skin from sticking out.
At home, it just depends on the day. Usually I'll just do a tshirt and pants. But we do have some super cute polo shirt-onesies...it's a mood thing I guess.
If DH dresses him and we're homebound, he'll be in a t-shirt. Since having Jack, DH is firmly anti-snaps of any kind.
I hate, hate, HATE putting DS in shirts because they always expose his formula gut but he has so many cute ones. I may have to do what pp does and put a long sleeve onsie on underneath it.
Could you maybe get some of those onsie extender snaps? I think they are sold on One Step Ahead but I think I've also seen them at BRU.
we were given an 18m outfit for christmas that has a onesie! it's like, the biggest onesie i've ever seen!
How weird, I was JUST wondering this same thing this morning.
I love onesies and use them almost all the time. I can't stand it when she's wearing a shirt and it rides up all the time. I also don't like the way it moves around when I pick her up and I feel bad when I end up touching her bare skin underneath--only because my hands are almost always really cold.
I can't imagine always putting a onesie underneath shirts. I think it's just way too warm here, even in the winter. I'll definitely be sad when she leaves the onesie stage.
