Does anyone still send out pregnancy announcements. We typically send out cards on New Years and valentines day and Halloween
But this year we did not do a New Years card and are thinking of sending a pregnancy announcement. Does anyone do this anymore? I kinda feel weird about it but in the same sense there are a ton of people/family/friends who dont know yet.
Just wondering?
Thanks,
J & M
Re: Pregnancy Announcements
I've never heard of pregnancy announcements. I was pretty anxious about our pregnancy, so I wouldn't have done something like that (for fear that something might happen and I'd have to go back and contact everyone). I also might be worried people would think I was fishing for a baby gift.
If you always send Valentines Day cards, you could include something on there if you wanted (I'm picturing a "happy V day" card with hearts around individual pictures of you, your SO, etc, and an ultrasound picture).
IUI #3 gave us the best 2nd anniv. gift ever: 2 babies! (born 03/09/10)

That was my situation too. We had previously lost a baby (pretty early on) but it happened the day after my mom made the announcement to my extended family at our Easter dinner, so she had to go back and tell everyone what happened. It was just awkward. But anyways, we waited about 3 months and just did our normal Christmas cards, a pic of me and H and it said "Love, Me, H and Baby Lastname (making an appearance in May 2010!)"
Since you normally do Valentine's cards, you could just put an announcement on those- it would be so cute with a little heart background and everything! Or, if you want to do it now, I don't think its too late to do a New Year card.
Either way, congratulations! And have fun spreading the news!
