C just fell asleep as I took the bottle out of her mouth. This probably hasn't happened since about 6-8 weeks old. Go figure, I bust my butt on helping her to nap by intervening between catnaps, and she passes out on the bottle. LoL.
And now to a question...C takes short naps, and I have been tring to get her back to sleep after them lately. I let her be awake and fuss/move around, but once she starts crying, I go in. Shortly after, with soothing and paci, she will go back to sleep. I know she can self-soothe, but she is crying. Will she eventually associate naps and self-soothing? I really want to help teach her to nap for longer stretches of time.
Re: well that hasn't happened in a long time...
NCSS suggests going in right before they wake up, so if she wakes at the 40 min mark, go in at 35 min and when she starts to wake up, soothe her back to sleep and supposedly it will help her to get through that phase in sleep on her own. I haven't tried it, so I don't know from experience, but it might be worth a shot.
Thanks!! I have that book, but just have to get around to reading it.
