WW Points

Hey Everyone,

I started WW today (I've been on it before, but just joined again) and I have so many points left! It's a bit crazy.

Anyone else have this "problem"?

TIA

Re: WW Points

  • Enjoy them! In a week or two the issue resves itself. I am on week 7 of the new program.

  • Others had this question at a meeting recently- the leader said not to worry about it if you weren't hungry at the end of the day. I thought the old program was 'Don't skip any points', but I guess this new program doesn't matter as much.

  • about 2 years ago i lost 110 lbs on WW.  i plan on going back on it after i have my baby.  i've heard of the "new" system but haven't been able to find any solid info on it, not even their website (without joining).  can someone give me a brief run through?  or guide me to where i might be able to find out.  also, i will be a nursing mom.  thanks!

I'm on week 2 of the new program and the biggest changes I've seen are:

    1.  You get a LOT more points, both daily and weekly.  I get 12 more/day than when I was on the old program.

    2.  The reason for the increase in points is that they redid their formula and now take into account protein and carbs, which increased the points values of many foods, like bread and meat.

    3.  Fruits and most veggies are now 0 points, no matter how much you eat.

I'm not nursing so I don't know what the changes are with that part of it, but I would assume they would still take into account the increased calories needed by nursing moms and increase the daily points accordingly.

  • Yea, the previous post explains it well. More daily points because the food has increased- you have to buy a calculator if you want to calculate points of non-WW endorsed foods, or use the online tools. Weekly points value went up too- I think it's 49 now?  I don't use those points so I don't remember the number (and I've fallen off the program with the holidays).  18 used to be the lowest daily point value you could use, now it's 29.

Nursing moms get 14 extra points, or 7 extra points if you're supplementing with foods or formula. They add points for various stages of life- like menopause and other stuff.

I'm finding it difficult to stay on the program- I tend to eat on the go a lot with two kids and find it difficult to stay 'healthy' I guess.
