I need your honesty! How was your recovery with #2 compared to #1? My doctor and I are still taking it week by week as far as route of delivery but I'm trying to prepare myself as much as possible that this baby is most likely going to come in the form of a repeat c/s. My biggest reservation to going ahead and scheduling it, aside from the fact that it is major surgery, is that I have Connor at home and DH won't be able to be home as long as he was last time and I'm just not sure if I can handle the recovery. I mean, I know I'll get through it, but it was tough enough with one, I'm freaking out about what it will be like with 2. Gah, I hate being in limbo like this!

Re: Repeat c-section ladies...
The recovery was a lot easier than the 1st time around! It was nice to have it scheduled - you go in and a hour later you have a child! The hardest part was not being able to pick up Ella, but I had a lot of help with her. My DH was able to take 2 weeks off and my parents live here as well. I also think it being around Christmas helped since she got a lot of new things to play with
Also - being in the hospital was hard since grandma stayed with her at night, but DH came home in either the morning / evening to take her to daycare or put her to bed. She came to visit once, but I didn't want her there a lot b/c of the germs.
My second time around was easier, for sure. I do think that's because it was scheduled, and I didn't labor for more than 12 hours before the decision was made for surgery.
I think, too, that the extra time you get in the hospital helps a lot...that's the worst of the recovery, when you stop to think about it.
I will say that we were in a position to have my parents take William home with them for the better part of a week. So - we had a little while at home before he came back. I didn't want to need to pick him up or anything (though there's not as much of that at almost-4 years old
)
Good luck to you!!!

I didn't find my recovery to be that bad (but I didn't really with the 1st either). It being planned definitely made it easier. I was surprised that they actually let me go home after only 2 nights -- I thought I'd be there at least another day or two. I think you will find you have more energy to tackle the two at a time.
I was so up in the air between a VBAC and repeat c-section. Honestly, finding out Claire was breach and that I'd need to do a repeat c-section took all the pressure off and was a huge relief. Although I would have loved to have experienced a vaginal birth, I was glad I didn't have to mull over it anymore.
Good luck!
I remember thinking in the initial few days after my repeat that the Dr. lied to me about it being easier. But it really was, I felt pretty good after one week whereas with the first one when I labored and pushed I felt horrible for three solid weeks.
The hardest part was trying not to pick up Camryn. She was still sleeping in a crib at that time and I didn't have any constant help at my house. But we managed the best we could.
I don't think I've ever heard someone say a repeat was worse so I'm sure you'll be fine if that's the route you end up going.
