Kermit?

My grandfather's name was Kermit.....obviously named before Sesame Street's famous frog became popular. I really like the name, but it is irreparably monopolized by the Muppet now? It could easily be used as a middle name, but how about a first name (for a boy, obviously)?

Though many people would immediately think of Kermit the Frog, is that such a bad association?

I had a prof. in college named Kermit and on the first day he said he would fail us if we called him by it.

There was a thread about Grover a few days ago. I feel like Kermit is in the same boat.

If you would like to honor your grandfather, Kermit could be a middle name, or you could use his last name as a middle name.

Haha, ok, I figured as much. Using it as a middle name will be fine, just thought I'd test the waters. My grandpa was a really well-respected man in our town; it's a shame the name is forever ruined now.

I would think that a MN wouldn't be as bad, but personally I wouldn't be able to do it I don't think, but of course I don't have a close family memeber with the name. If you do REALLY want to use it I would say to definitely only consider it for a MN.
