stomach flu and SO scared

so lastnight my sister was at my house visiting the new baby.. this morning she called and told me she was up all night throwing up and thought it might be the stomach flu. THEN my bf came home from work early today feeling sick.. and I am absolutely terrified my baby is going to get this illness. maybe I wouldn't be as scared or worried if she was more then 4 days old... Sad

     I would be worried about a 4 day old, too. Just take precautions (wash hands excessively), and most importantly, take good care of yourself.
     My DH was in the hospital Tuesday night with the stomach virus (and possibly a kidney stone). I just saw my pedi today for the 2 month check-up. He said that since I'm BF-ing that LO would most likely not have any stomach issues. And, if he did they'd pass quick.

    if you have any doubts, always call you pedi. I just had the stomach flu. Just make sure your babies have pee diapers. This way you know they are hydrated. I would be more worried if someone had a cold or some sort of chest illness. Its the respiratory stuff thats scary with newborns.  But definitely keep your eye out and call if unsure.

    DH got the stomach flu from our other family members at Christmas and DS was 8 or 9 days old and I was terrified!! (9 out of 14 people that were at our christmas caught it) DH slept in our spare room for 2 nights, and didn't hold DS.  I lysol and cloroxed the house like CRAZY and washed my hands everytime I touched anything!  luckily me and the little one didn't catch it!  Good luck!!
