Ugh, this afternoon was awful. So I've had a cyst on my right ovary for a few cycles, but wasn't hurting or interfering with ovulation so RE left it alone. Well it has now gotten huge (9 cm) and has been hurting horribly for the past week or so. Long story short, my pain was so bad this afternoon that when I called, she sent me to the ER to check for torsion, which isn't happening, but I will be having surgery on Monday to take out the cyst. There was talk of doing it tonight, but I would probably have been in the waiting room until the middle of the night, so unless something happens we'll wait until Mon. I'm so ready to get rid of this thing but I'm so nervous about the surgery- they're going to try to do a laparoscopy but given the cyst size may end up doing a full incision.
Any T&P's you could send my way would be greatly appreciated!

my blog
I'm so sorry! I just had laproscopic surgery last month (Dec 1st) for a 6.5 cm cyst on my right ovary. It was my first time with general anesthesia so I was super nervous. The surgery went very well. There are three small incisions, with the one in the belly button being the largest b/c that is where they took it out from.
My recovery was pretty easy too. The most pain was from the CO2 that they pump into your stomach to inflate it and give them more room to work. It presses on the diaphragm and gives a referred pain in the shoulders. Really it was my shoulders that hurt the most. I didn't take it nearly as easy as I should have becuase I was feeling so good, but then when I got too active, my shoulders would start hurting again. It was really weird.
If you want any more info or details on the surgery send me a PM. I'll be sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way! Take it easy until then too (but I'm sure you are already.)
Good luck with your surgery. I'm sure you'll feel so much better once this is done, and I hope they're able to do everything laparoscopically.
I noticed in your siggy you said you have a possible diagnosis of endo. I'm assuming they'll be able to look and confirm this during the same lap, right? If so, that's killing two birds with one stone, at least.
after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!
IT'S A GIRL!
