Ligament pain with full bladder?

Okay, this has happened to me on several occasions recently.  I will be asleep and start experiencing what I think is a cramping or ligament pain, it actually disturbs my sleep.  I will go to the bathroom after laying awake for awhile and find that I really needed to go, and it helps the pain to subside.  I guess the weird thing is it seems that my bladder is not sending the signal to my brain that I need to pee, all I feel is the pain/cramping, but when I get up to go it turns out I do have to pee.  During the day I know when my bladder is full, but it is like I don't get the signal at night.

Does anyone else experience this, or am I just going crazy?

  • My Doctor said that it is totally normal for that to happen.  She said having to pee really bad and great sex will cause you to have the icky crampy feeling.  She said just pee as soon as you get the urge and when you do pee make sure you lean forward just a little to make sure you are emptying your bladder completely.  This also helps prevent UTIs.

  • This wakes me up when I'm sleeping too! I feel cramps more than the actual urge to pee, but after I do I feel much better.

  • I'm not as far along as the rest of you, but I have definitely noticed some cramping/discomfort with a full bladder. It's really been bothering me over the past few days. I'm thinking of going in and getting a U/A done just to make sure it's not a UTI (I got a LOT before I was pregnant), but overall that is normal and I remember it with my first pregnancy, just not this early.....
  • I get Braxton Hicks whenever my bladder gets too full.
