MoM local club vent

Currently there is no MOM club in my area.  There are 2 clubs in the adjacent  counties though.  I contacted one to see if they had meetings close to me and put me in contact with someone trying to form the club in my area.  Nice!

Well turns out she is sorta using the club as networking for her own affiliations.  She's an Arbornne sales rep and has already contacted those interested in the MOM club for a "facial party."  She is also involved in MADD and is hosting an event at a local pizzeria, and has selected the pizzeria as the location for the first MOM meeting! 

I was really excited about joining the club, but now am not sure if I want to.  I don't want to feel pressured to joining other organizations bc of this lady.  Also, since I feel this way, I wonder if others will too and won't go to the meeting, or join the club.

    Yeah that does sound a little hokey.  Maybe check on meetup.org and see if there's another group, or post to start one yourself!  There should be lots of MoMs in such a big metro area.

    Our local club does some MoMs night out things, but those are separate from our regular meetings.

    Coco, you live Miami-dade? I have a club bookmarked on my computer and it's mom of twins club here in Miami if you want me to send you the link. It looks legit to me since I have been part of a similar club for moms when my daughter was 4 months old and we used to get together like twice a week. Is that something you're looking for?
