f/u to c/s complication

Original Post

First, thank you all for your kind words and suggestions. For those of you who are interested - I saw my OB on Tuesday and she sent me immediately to the hospital for a barrage of tests - blood, urine, x-ray,CT scan with and without contrast, etc. It was a long day! Anyway, they didn't find anything at all.

The good news is that it doesn't appear to be "serious", but the bad news is that we don't have a fix for it either. She believes/hopes that my nerves are pinched in my sutures and when the sutures dissolve in the next 4-6 weeks I should be fine. I told her that some people had similar pain where the clamp was and she said that definitely could be it as well.

Now it's a waiting game. She did mention some options if it's not better in a month, but doesn't know of anything to do now. She also discussed it with the other OBs in the practice. This makes me feel like she did everything that she could. I have talked to one of the other doctors and he was telling me about what everyone thought so I know she asked for opinions.

I did order a belly band, which showed up yesterday. It absolutely does not work. It makes everything worse! I think it's putting pressure in exactly the wrong spot, unfortunately.

Again, thank you!

  • I'm glad your OB is taking your concerns so seriously, and I hope it clears up on its own ASAP. Good luck!

  • I was reading your OP about the belly band and the placement of it exacerbates your pain. Have you thought of wearing a compression garment? The kind I have used post surgery go from just under the breasts (with bra straps) and down to mid thigh. They encorporate stronger nylong across the belly to give added support to the abdominal area.

There are all kinds of compression garments, post surgery garments you can find online. This might be helpful to you in helping you heal faster. HTH.

Thank you, I'll look into them.

  • I'm glad the tests showed no serious problems, but I'm so sorry you're still in pain Sad  And I'm sorry the band didn't help either.  I hope you get some relief soon!
