My LO hates the car seat

My DD hates her car seat. If she has to sit by herself in the back (I usually sit back there with her if DH is driving) she cries the whole way to where we are going. I don't let her cry for even one minute at home without comforting her so now I am stuck at home all day (I am a SAHM) because I can't bare to put her through the car ride anywhere. On top of hat she hates going on walks in the car seat/stroller and it's hard to go a long distance wearing her or go running wearing her, so I am basically stuck inside all day with no exercise!

    My DD was the EXACT same way until she hit 4 months.  We bought her a new carseat toy to put on the bar so I'm not sure if that helped, but as soon as she hit 4 months old, she is like a different kid! My pedi suggested that she may get car sick too.

    I'm not sure what happened, but for the past few weeks she has been fantastic in the car!

    My DD is like this as well.  I hate listening to the crying and feel so awful, that I stay home unless we really have to go somewhere.  It sucks!  I hope she'll follow Emerson's lead and learn to enjoy the car. Momma needs to go shopping!

    My DD is the same way. I kept asking myself why am I the only one with a LO who hates the car seat? I went to my cousins graduation from college about a forty-five minute drive away and she screamed the whole time. We thought we left her binky at the college so we couldn't even use that. Let me just tell you it was the longest car ride of my life. Sometimes she will not cry and it makes going anywhere so much easier but, usually as soon as she hits the car seat she starts screaming. Sometimes, I feel like you and I wish I could just stay home all day so I don't have to hear the screaming. I just wonder what makes her upset and its frustrating because I can't just stop putting her in there... Just a few more months and she can get out of her carrier and into a regular car seat... That's what I keep telling myself.

    Literally it went from screaming at the top of her lungs the entire car ride, to complete silence as well as enjoyment! I was floored. I hope it stays this way.

    This is the toy we started using. It clips onto the sides of the car seat bar so it is right in front of her face and she can easily see it and grab it.  It also doesn't get in the way of the handle part of the car seat.  We love it!

    Try static on the radio at LOUD volume.  It usually works like a CHARM for DD.  Really!!  good luck...

    Ladies, I'm in the same boat and me no likey! However, we just moved her straps and are hoping this solves the problem. Regadless, I am thankful daycare is a 5 minute ride.
