Hello All! I normally post on TTC but tom'w we have an appt. with my OB/GYN to discuss next steps and testing and meds and I thought you ladies might be able to help me out.
Some background... I started seeing my OB/GYN last November because I was convinced I had an infection and no Dr. would listen ... he did and I was right! He put me back on BCP then I got a cyst in April, May DH's aunt died and we totally missed ovulation. So we really got started in June. We have been trying 8
cycles, tom'w I'll be CD13 which is the longest I've really ever gone. I've been charting all of the cycles, temping some, just OPK's the last 2 in an attempt to "relax" for the holidays and not temp at the IL's. Both of our parents struggled with IF, my mother has endo, MIL unexplained IF.
BFN this morning so I'm not expecting a miracle tom'w but that's when the Dr. wanted to see me.
When I saw him after 6 cycles of TTC he
wanted to see me and DH on CD1 of Cycle 9 so we could discuss a SA for
DH and a HSG for me. He also mentioned using Clomid in the future (I
have confirmed O by temping but I have a short LP).
Tell me what you know... What are the right things he should be saying? When he talks about the cycle when/how should I be being monitored? Are there other tests besides the HSG I should have prior to Clomid? You ladies are experts... what should I be asking about?
Educate me! I'm going with my baby notebook that I always have my questions down in so I can keep track of his answers otherwise I'd forget the minute I leave.
Thanks for reading all this!
Re: Dr. Appt and the Clomid talk... questions
Hello and welcome- I hope you don't have to stick around too long!
Definitely start with an SA and HSG. Will you be seeing an RE or your OB? My OB referred us to an RE before initial testing. If you do decide to use Clomid in the future you should have monitoring appointments on CD3 and then again around CD11-13 to check for follicles and your lining. Bloodwork 7dpo will confirm ovulation.
I think if I read your timeline correctly that June will mark one year of TTC for you. I would wait until the one year mark to start medicated cycles. I know it's super hard to be patient!! I hope you find some answers from your Dr. soon!
