Bleeding after group b strep test

Does anyone know what a normal amount of bleeding is after the group b strep test?  My doctor said that I may experience some spotting but I don't know how much that is exactly.  I began bleeding and it felt like I almost urinated a little, then there was some blood in the toilet the next time I used the restroom.  I don't want to be annoying and call the doctor if it's unnecessary but I also don't want to miss something.

 Thanks everyone!

  • I did not spot with the group b, but my first internal she said I could get some bleeding and spotting for around 24 hours, if I have bleeding like a period lasting more than 4 hours to call her. If you are concerned a call never hurts, that is what the doctors are there for.

  • I agree with the PP about it never hurting to call if you're concerned. I just had my GBS done on Tuesday and I only had bleeding until the next morning. It wasn't a lot though, it was just some brown on the tp, nothing red and nothing flowing.

  • Ive never heard of spotting after GBS test, they just use a qtip to swab the area around your vagina & rectum.

Perhaps you had an agressive cervical check?

    I would call.

This, group b is a cotton swab eternally swiped. If you're bleeding, it's not from that.
