Update on CO Poop Gate

All I have to say is poor Rachel. This baby girl is going to have buns of steel. We put her on a bra diet (no t in her diet yet) and gave her a 1 day break from the augmentin. It helped but only for that one day. I think every time she pooped from 12/22-12/31 she had a blowout, it was horrible. She also developed a yeast rash on top of the diaper rash. Poor little thing would screech when we were cleaning her tush. And she would cry and kick her legs if we tried to sit her down. It was horrible. So we ended up doing a ton of tummy time along with time in our arms and standing in the exersaucer or jumperoo.

We used Nystatin to cleared up the yeast and diaper rash. Once she was off the augmentin she was fine for a couple of days. But she has had diarrhea for the past several days and her poor tushie is still sore but no where near what it was.

And to top it all off I was sick too. Now I'm on amoxicillian for tonsillitis. What a mess we are.

Now I'm off to get caught up. I hope every one has a great 2011.

Oh poor little thing! That sounds just awful- for baby and mommy. I hope she and her little tushy get better soon.

Poor Rachel!!!!

I understand. I do! The only thing that cleared up Aaron's tush was the Nystatin. It took about 3 weeks for his hiney to look normal.

Stuff has been going around, so you're not alone. We were sick with a cold over the holidays and A has had diarrhea for 3 days now. Yesterday his butt was so red I took him to the doctor. She says it's probably viral and told me to give him Florastor, which is a probiotic. He doesn't have an ear infection but he's teething too. His molars are making him uncomfortable, poor baby. And DH was in the hospital on Xmas day due to dehydration caused by diarrhea. He was home from work for 5 days straight.

LO seems to be better today but he's had explosions every time he poops, which is about 4-5 times a day now. I can't wait for him to feel better and go back to normal poops. The amount of laundry is crazy!

Finn is off the augmentin but also got the big D again a few days later for a couple of days. The probiotics, though, really made a huge difference in the amount he had and it not burning his butt too much. The Dr. even recommended it specifically with use of Augmentin. It was pretty much our lifesaver. We are going to continue it.
