I think I'd just like some insight here. I'm not overly concerned about my doctor's route, but wanted to hear your opinions.
For the record, I am still working with my OB at this point.
I had an HSG in September, at the end of Cycle 12. All clear. Doctor also ordered an SA for DH. For our own personal reasons, he has not done it yet, but will be doing it in the next week.
I talked to my doctor's nurse today about the next steps (they had wanted to wait a few months after my HSG before doing anything futher on me). I was thinking they would want CD3 bloodwork and that's tomorrow, which is why I called.
First, they want to hold off on anything more for me until the SA results. I understand that and, personally, do believe there is an issue with DH. The nurse also said they don't want to have to do some of the more expensive tests on me if it is not necessary.
They do want to do CD21 (hate that they called it that--I will wait for 7DPO) bloodwork and said they will check thyroid levels then.
This got way longer than I intended, but I guess I just wanted to hear some thoughts on taking this route. Should I be concerned? Should I push harder?

Re: doctor doesn't want CD3 bloodwork
I would be concerned, my RE does CD 2 (or 3) bloodwork right away. My OBGYN wouldn't do any testing (not that she refused, she just referred me right out to the RE).
If you are really concerned, I would think about going to an RE.
Why do you think there is a problem with your DH? I think it is kind of odd that you think it is him.
I think we may be dealing with, at the very least, some low testosterone issues. He has very little libido. He keeps blaming in on his age--38--but I don't think that is it. He also has some other health issues and medications that could be causing some other issues. He actually agrees with this.
And I'm certainly not saying there isn't an issue with me. I've always had that concern as my mother tried for 5 years to get pregnant (later in life--starting at age 34; I'm now 33) and I have an aunt who was never able to conceive.
She didn't really say why she didn't want it, just that it wasn't her standard protocol.
Fortunately, I do O right around CD14 most cycles (lately, I've been pretty consistent about that), so it might be that they coincide. She wanted me to call a few days before. I'll call after I confirm O with temps and see what they want to do. Thanks for the heads up!
I would want CD3 b/w right away. My OB did it before I agreed to doing a lap for suspected endo. Turns out that my FSH was high. I started seeing an RE soon after and was diagnosed with DOR. I really wish I had known this sooner since with DOR time is really my enemy.
I had no reason to suspect a problem with my CD3 b/w. I ovulate regularly, have fairly consistent periods and I am now 32.

My RE didn't initially order CD3 bloodwork. I got all weirded out bc everyone on the board said that their RE had them do it. Turns out his reasoning was that he saw plenty of antral follicles during my u/s (about 20), and that combined with my age (even though already 33) he said he wasn't worried about Day 3 levels. I asked for it anyway and got the testing done which turned out fine.
