1st time buying disposable diapers

and I felt like an freaking idiot.  I could talk all day about the hundreds of kinds of CDs but put me in the disposable diaper aisle and I fumble around like a moron.  I am smart enough to read a height/weight chart but what is with all the different kinds...snug & dry, little movers, soft & comfy...whatever.  Yikes!  I went with Huggies Little Movers.

(Not sure why but I feel the need to justify why I bought them--I don't trust my MIL to wash our CDs while I am in the hospital with Lewie, so Maya is going to be in disposables during that time.)

I know, it's baffling. I ended up just buying Up&Up because they're cheap and people seem to like them. Luckily they work for us.

BTW, if you need an overnight diaper at all, I do like Huggies Overnights.

Overnight diapers are helpful because they'll absorb more.  We usually size up for overnight as well as buy the ON diapers because otherwise he'll leak through.

  • We've had good luck with any brands of disposables. I honestly don't even know what they are all advertising, ha, I just buy what's on sale and they always seem to work without any problems.  We've tried Pampers, Kirkland, Up & Up, Huggies, and Luvs.

We starting using night time diapers when Andrew was 3 months old b/c he was wetting through.  He would drink a big bottle before bed and after 12 hours the regular ones couldn't hold it all.  We buy a night time diaper 2 sizes up (so a size 5 instead of his regular size 3), but he still eats & drinks immediately before bed (snack) so his diapers are very wet.

  • For sure go with one size up for night time.   We use pampers crusiers during the day but the pamper drymax/baby dry at night are great!  We dont like huggies or luvs.
  • We use Huggies Little Movers. Love them. We've never had a problem with Huggies.

DH bought a random package of overnight diapers one time, and they were nice (didn't seem as "heavy" in the morning), but we definitely don't need overnight diapers. We don't even size up at night. So, unless Maya wakes up with super, super wet diapers, I wouldn't worry about buying overnights.

And YAY for never having to buy disposables! That must be a great feeling!! :)
