Re: Jan 25th will find out what is new step in my journey,,Unexplained infertility
We have unexplained IF. The approach we're taking is medicated IUI for a few cycles, followed by injectable meds with IUI, then if that all fails probably IVF. How aggressive your RE will be depends a lot on your age. I'm 35 so I get 3 Clomid cycles before we regroup and decide whether to do injectables or jump to IVF. In my case, we will probably do injectables because I can get cheap meds and if we can avoid IVF, I'm willing to try most anything. Meeting with the RE and getting a plan has done wonders for my mood this last month. I'm cautiously optimistic, but even if this cycle doesn't work, we have a plan in place for the next 4-6 months.
Good luck with your appointment. I'm sure it will go great, and really having a plan is such a relief!!

April IVF Spring Chicks
I'm unexplained as well.
Our plan is like the others. 2 IUI cycles with clomid. If that fail an inject IUI and if that fails IVF.
Feel free to come over to the Infertility board. It's a great board with a lot of women in the same boat. There many resources over there as well! Good luck!
Our plan is a few cycles of IUI. We are doing this first cycle with Clomid. If that doesn't work then we will re-group and determine if we will try again the same or change medications for the next cycle. Our RE said 4 cycles of IUI is the max (he said if 4 doesn't work, then IUI is not going to work).
I am hoping the first time is a charm and works though! Trying to stay positive, so I can get a positive! (haha)
We started out as MFI but now are UIF along with slight MFI. My RE doesn't seem to think it is only the MFI that we are facing. SHe said and it was a big blow to me that we should have ended up pregnant by now (4 yrs) naturally even with the MFI. She informed me that MH's numbers are considered closer to normal now. So of course she told me that ppl with UIF usually have to go with IVF and for us that is just not an option. SO for now we are going with maybe a few cycles of injection meds and IUI and then we will either stop TTC or attempt to face taking on the $12,000 it will cost for the procedure.
So as of yesterday (my appt) we did a few more blood tests and MH is going to do another SA next week to check his progress with the supplements and we will hopefully start on the injectables in Feb.
GL with your appt!!
