XP: Working from home request approved!

My company is moving about 20 minutes farther away in a month and I have been stressing about it.  I am so used to popping in at home if I have a free hour I am hating moving so far away from Matty.  Well I asked my boss today if I could work from home one day a week and he said yes!

While I am not looking forward to a longer commute I am so excited to WFH one day a week!!

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

  • Yay!!!!!

Commutes suck.  DH has a long one (2 hours each way to NYC) and I used to drive 40 miles each way when I was young and single. My commute is going from a half hour drive (25 miles) to a less than 10 minute one (4 miles)?until I find a new job, that is. But for now I'm staying with the family biz.

  • That's awesome. I am so jealous. My office has a strict no telecommuting rule.

  • Awesome and congratulations! I'm thinking about asking for a one day work from home option as well. I've changed positions at work so now it may be possible for me.

  • That's great! My commute is abour 20 miles but one of H's hospitals is less than a mile away from the house so he usually comes home for lunch.

  • Yay!  I loved working from home & I really did work (& laundry &loved working in my pj's).  My mom came to watch Owen - otherwise I would not have gotten anything done.

  • That's great!  I started working from home one day a week while I was pregnant with my 1st.  It has been awesome.  Before DD was born I would be able to throw in a load of laundry or whatever throughout the day.  Now I love being able to hear my daughter all day and to check in with what she's up to throughout the day.  (I still have our nanny come on the day that I work from home).

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have been.

I have two things going for me to help me really work:

    1. My nanny will be taking care of Matt and she is really good about keeping Matt away from me if I am on the computer.

    2. We have a converted carriage house so for most of the time I will not even be in the house with Matt but since it is in our backyard I can wear pajamas!
