Should I drug up before Mirena?

I have a few percoset left from my c-section recovery. Should I pop one before getting my Mirena today?

    I just took a few alleve, worked fine and it was painless.

    The nurse from my dr's office called yesterday & told me to take 600 mg ibuprofen before going in for my appointment on Friday.  She said to expect cramping & that the ibuprofen will help me deal with the cramps on the way home.

    The nurse at my ob's office said to take 800 mg of ibuprofen. She said ibuprofen specifically would help somehow with the insertion, and of course it would help with any pain.

    I was told to take some of my left over c-section pills by my doc.  I took it and it helped with the small cramps during and after.  I did not have to take any more meds after.  It is not that bad.  Worth it.

    I must be living under a rock, but what is Mirena?  I'm guessing some sort of intrauterine device?

    I didn't take anything for my Paragard and it was fine. I was terrified going in! Not nearly as bad as I thought.
