North Carolina Babies

I purchased 27 items for 21 dollars!

As the man that rang me up said, "you can't even do that well at the dollar tree!"

I usually am sadly disappointed with my super doubles savings, but I was very pleased today.  If anyone is interested in my deals list just let me know and I will post it, otherwise I won't bore you with the details :)  I used some regular coupons, like 60 cents off and 75 cents off but then I did have several super doubles.

  • Ok, so here is the list, I hope it makes sense the way I typed it up.   100 ct. Ziploc Sandwich bags, 30ct. Ziploc Storage bags These were 2/$5 and I had a coupon for $1.25 doubled made these $1.25 ea, $2.50 total     (2) Ziploc Storage containers B1G1 and coupon for $1.50 doubled made these .25 ea, .49 total     (2) Lysol Wipes 2/$4, $1 coupon doubled = $1 ea, $2 total     (2) Mueller Wide Egg Noodles 2/$3, $1 coupon doubled = .50 ea, $1 total     Mueller Bowties, Mueller Penne 2/$3, $1 coupon doubled = .50 ea, $1 total     (2) Campbell?s Chunky Soup B1G1, $.40 coupon doubled = .72 cents ea, $1.44 total     (2) Electrasol 20ct gel packs B1G1, $1 coupon doubled + $2.25 coupon = $1 .24 total     Always liners 2.99, $1 coupon doubled= .99 total     Tampax Tampons $2.99, $1 coupon doubled = .99 total     (2) Yoplait Smoothie Frozen Fruit $3.75x2, $1x2 doubled = $1.75 ea, $3.50 (willing to pay a little extra because we go through a lot of fruit! This is a good deal for us.)     Butterball Turkey Sausage $2.50, $.75 coupon doubled = $1.00     (2) Bayer Low Dose Asprin 1.99, $1.00x2 coupon doubled = FREE (gave one to co-worker and will keep one, I would have given them to grandparents if no one else used them)     This next one I went a little crazy. I usually don?t get more than 2 items at a time, but these have a good length expiration and I can eat them for desserts every now and then since I usually have a major sweet tooth.  The coupon required the purchase of 3 and I had 2 coupons.   (6) Hunts Snack Pack Pudding Cups $1, .60 couponx2 doubled = .60 ea, 3.60 total   ETA: 1 of the Electrasol coupons was for Electrasol Quantum but it worked on the regular Electrasol.

  • Wow.  And you figured all this out before you went, right?  So you knew exactly what you were going for?  I seriously need to do this...

  • Yup! I sort of have a bit of time at work so I figure it all up in the mornings before I go.  Usually, I do it on Monday and since I am taking advantage of deals no one else really knows about I am fine but since it is super doubles and everyone gets wind of low price items due to major blogging I have to do it on Wednesday when the deals start.  You can see how I do this in the thread below titled "couping ladies" I think I was the last to respond.  I HIGHLY recommend couponmom.com.  I am also thinking about starting a blog so my mom can get all my info easily so I will let you all know if I do that :)

I panic every time I do this because I see the register go up to $65 dollars like it did today but it always ends up working out.

  • This was my first time actually trying to get some good deals. My total bill was $96.74 but after VIC savings and coupons I only paid $41.08. Everything I bought was either on sale or I had a coupon for with the exception of 2 items and those two items cost me $7.99 (plus tax).

  • I will add for equal comparison to help anyone that might be interested, I said that my register total was $65 but that already included many VIC savings.

My total total was 80.17 and I saved 58.53 with VIC savings and coupons combined leaving me with a bill of 21.64.

  • I bought some regular non coupon groceries plus ground beef and chicken as they are on sale but my total was 141.46 before coupons and VIC Savings and after all that it was 68.48. So considerign I got some non coupon items and stocked up on some chicken and ground beef I felt pretty good how I did today esp. since I haven't gotten coupons for my inlaws for a few weeks.

  • I spent $43.99, and saved $74.01 (coupons + vic savings). I was pretty pleased!

Did any of y'all do the Meal Deal? I don't know how long HT has been doing it, but today was the first time I did it.

You had to buy two large jars of Prego sauce ($3.50 each), then you got a box of HT pasta, container of Kraft grated parmesan, Pepperidge Farm garlic bread, and a 2 liter Pepsi product FREE! I thought that was a pretty awesome deal for 7 bucks! So, that was included in my $43.99. :-)
