Just had to share how awesome Mads is doing with potty training! We started on Sunday and she peed on the floor 4 times, and once in her highchair. And she went in the potty 0 times on Sunday- she just didn't seem to "get it" at ALL.
Yesterday she did a lot better- about half accidents, half potty. She pooped in her underwear and peed on the floor 3 times, but also went in the potty 4 times. So I was a little hopeful, and decided to just go back to diapers for a couple of weeks and then try the 3-day program that racey e-mailed me.
Well, today she has had 0 accidents! She was in a diaper all day and may have gone once in her diaper at school. But as soon as she got home she told me she had to go, and since then she's had a totally dry diaper (even through naptime), and she's peed in the potty 4 times and pooped once.
I know that we probably have LOTS of accidents to come, but I'm amazed at what she's learned in 2 days. I'm so proud! I have to share on here b/c I'm sure most of my FB friends don't want to hear pee/poop details, lol.
Re: Potty training update
That is awesome!! It really sounds like she is getting it! Go Maddie!
The fact she was in a diaper and still didn't have any accidents is really great. Most kids would go if they had a diaper on. When we trained Chloe she would pee in her pull-up if we left it on in the morning for any short time--just because it was convenient. If we changed her to panties right away she would pee in the potty and never in her panties. Good luck! I keep trying to offer the potty to Keira and she was really into sitting on it for a while and now she screams "NO" when I ask her. My dream for only 1 kid in diapers will probably not come true! haha
Yay Maddie! I read your post the other day and thought the same thing to myself....we were living your nightmare.
We havent really been trying hard core but trying to get him to at least try...that was a battle to. But the last 2 days have been like a light has went off. He has done AWESOME!!!! Stickers, and mini m&ms really help.
I hope she keeps it up. I was worried pull ups were a waste but he seems to do pretty good in them. Getting pretty mad at me if we dont go right away when he tells me.
Go Maddie! (And AT too!)
We've been working on it, very low pressure, for a few months. I think we're going to attempt the 3 day method over the MLK weekend. Don't quote me on that though. hehe.
