Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

What made me feel better today

Today was my "follow-up" appointment that I had been dreading.  I had no idea what to expect.  Although the Dr. was an hour behind, once she came in and talked to me about what actually happened I felt better.  It was like after I admitted outloud (first time ever) that "I miscarried" and I didn't break down and cry, I felt stronger.

Now that final appointment is out of the way and I got the "there is no medical reason to wait, but we suggest for emotional reasons to wait one cycle.  If you get pregnant right away it's not a problem" speech I feel that this miscarriage is starting to hurt less.  I'm beginning to not cry everyday at the sight of a pregnant lady or a baby.  Just a week ago I felt that these milestones may never come.

What things have made you women feel better in this hard period?

Re: What made me feel better today

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope I feel some kind of relief after my apt, which is next Tuesday. The one thing that got me through the first week was movies, I would watch 3-4 movies and by then it seemed like the day was over. Now that I don't need to numb myself as much I am enjoying walking outside (even in the cold b/c I live in Philadelphia). I have been walking my son to school instead of driving him and just the extra time with him and breathing in fresh air... the walk home myself, it seems to make me feel part of the world again.
