how early do docs usually give baby the go ahead to be able to fly?
one of my best friends (we've been friends since we were 5) is getting hitched this fall! i'm so excited and realistically i figure we won't be able to go but wondering if its even a slight possibility since the wedding with be in Indiana. although i'm still working on her for a Texas destination wedding
Re: travelling with baby question...
oh whoa that's way earlier than i thought the answers would be! lol. they're not getting hitched til late october so little one would be ~5 months old.
ok this gives me hope. i might think i've lost my mind when the time comes, but this friend is a lifelong friend... i'd really hate to miss her wedding.
5 months old -- of course you can do it!! we traveled to my brother's wedding when ds was only 4 months old and it was awesome! that is a prime age to travel, in my opinion!
Ditto! DD's first plane ride was around 3.5 months. Its so much easier when they are little! You'll definitely be fine at 5 months!
My BIL and SIL flew over from Norway when my nephew was only 8 weeks old. They said it was *way* easier than when they came back (with his baby sister) and he was 2, plus he has the world's cutest passport photo.
I think that by 5 months you will be golden.
Yeah at 5 mo you'll be golden. We flew with DD and she was almost 4 mo and she was an angel. Got a little tougher on the next flight at 7 mo just because she needed more entertainment.
When we were interviewing pedis we asked this question (re: crowds/travel) and ours said they would prefer to wait until after their 2 mo vaccs.
