When did you new mommies take your first night out with your hubby without the babies? I feel horrible for even asking this, because my girls are only two and a half weeks old. But I keep wanting to hear what you other moms did.......   :)

    We still haven't been out...

    My parents have stayed with the boys while we've gone out running errands for a few hours, but that's about it.

    Well I took my first night out when they were about 3 weeks old, for my best friend's birthday.  DH was working a 24 hour shift so he couldn't come with me, so my mom came up for a visit and stayed in with the kids.  I think the first time we both went out was right before they were 6 weeks old.  We were visiting family back home and they practically kicked us out of the house for a few hours the first night we were there.  LOL

    I remember we did a lunch date for Valentine's Day when they were 5 weeks old. It was wonderful. :) I forget for sure if that was our first date or not; we might've gone out for a quick lunch once or twice before that. (I had two different friends who would each come over once a week for a couple hours until the boys were 3m old. Mostly they were helping me with the boys but after a little while they felt comfortable enough to handle them both for an hour so DH and I could go out for a quick lunch.)

    My DH and I aren't really "go out" kinds of people.  We'd much rather stay at home.  We're super lame like that. Big Smile

    With that being said, our first overnight without them was 11 weeks.  DH was the best man in a wedding out of town, and we had a great time.  The boys stayed with my parents and did fantastic. 

    If it was just us going out after the boys went to bed while my parents stayed with them at our house, I'd have been ready for that at any time.  You know, if we weren't so lame.

    Thanks for the responses! I have a feeling we will wait another couple weeks until we get an offer from family or friends to watch them for a few hours. But it will be nice to have a dinner out just the hubby and I and one little break from feedings. ha ha!!!
