Appointments every two weeks? (wk 10 & 12)

I just had my first OB appt on Monday.  I am in my 10th week.  I wa taken aback when my OB told me to come back in two weeks.  There were no issues or concerns at the appointments.  I don't remember having to come back so soon with my son.  I thought early appointments were a month apart.  Anyone else have this?  Why?  This is really annoying...

  • Hmmm yeah I remember every 4 weeks also. Did you ask why they wanted to see you so soon?

  • I go every 2 weeks (every week between 4w and 8w), but I'm high-risk.   That seems weird if you have no issues - unless it's for something like the NT scan.  Did you opt for that?

  • I will have my first appt at 10 weeks (next Wednesday) and then another most likely at 12 or 13 for the NT us.

Then it stretches out after that I believe.

This is what I was thinking. I would call and ask if it's for the NT scan.

  • I had my US yesterday and it went great but I'm still going back in 2 weeks to do my one hour blood sugar test. I think it will be an additional 4 weeks after that. I think sometimes it just depends on when they see you and they try to get you on a "schedule".

  • If he didn't say anything was wrong, I would guess its because he wants you to be on more of a typical schedule, meaning coming at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks, etc, rather than 10 weeks, 14 weeks, 18 weeks
