I had it done at my 40 week appt and my water broke 2 days later. I never progressed though and ended up with a c/section.

That night! I was crampy alllll day long after she did it and then at 2:30 a.m I started having hard contractions about 3 mins apart soooo off to the hospital I went!

Had it at 38wks... Had to get induced at 39wks..but had no more progess by then

On a Friday had my LO on Sunday. It was a full moon though. I was 38 weeks pregnant.

had it done the middle of my 38th week. Had LO five days later. I was induced a little though to really get things going. the night it was done I had a little bleeding but that was it. It didn't do much for me but everyone is different.

I had it done at 39 weeks and 40 weeks. Three days after my 40 week sweep I went into labor and 10 hours later I had my daughter! It only works if your body is ready to give birth. Good luck!

My doctor did a membrane sweep at my 38 week appt as I was 1 cm dilated. That was a Thursday afternoon, and my water broke on the Saturday morning. DD was born late Saturday night.

My water broke while my OB was stripping mine... I was 40w2d. Maybe you will be just as lucky, although I did end up with a c-section b/c I wasn't progressing after 26 hours of labor.

Well, I had it done 2 weeks before and nothing happened, then the second time I had it done I had LO that evening.

I had mine stripped three times... never went into labor! C/S at 40wks 3days. (For the record, I didn't have the c/s due to no progress... pre-e was my enemy, as well as GD)

I had it done twice: at 38 and 39 weeks. I ended up getting induced on my due date due to high blood pressure. She stripped them once more than to help move things along.

I had lots of prelabor from 37 weeks on. I had my membranes stripped at 39 weeks and got more consistent contractions, but didn't go into labor. I had them stripped again on my due date. I went into labor about two hours later and progressed great without any interventions. I was already 3cm and 75%, though, so I might have gone into labor that day anyway.

unfortunately it didn't work for me but it did work for a few of my friends... its just different for everyone.

I had them stripped 3 times in 10 days by 3 different MDs. Didn't progress a bit and ended up being induced. Everything went well though and had a gorgeous baby boy!

My water broke about 10-15 minutes after my Dr stripped them for the second time.

Stripped on a late Wed afternoon & Started contracting right away. Went in Friday morning, still at 1 cm dialated. Went back Friday night, was 5-6 cm dialated. DS was born early on Saturday morning. Remember, though, that what happened to me is not indicative of your situation. My sister had hers stripped and had to be induced a week later.

I had mine stripped at my 40 wk appointment on a Wednesday and my water broke the following Monday. I stalled at 7cm, though, and had a c-section because LO's head was too large and he couldn't drop the rest of the way.
