"lead" follie - typical? (and my CD16 update)

Went in this AM for a CD16 check.  2 follies, 15.5 and 20.  Yesterday it was 15.5 and 18.5.  Is it typical that one follie takes over like this?  I had this last cycle too where when I had my IUI I had 3 follies and one was 25.5 and the other was 16.5 (it had been 19.5 a day earlier so it either shrunk or they measured it wrong?).

I just kind of wish I had 2 or 3 that were closer in size.

I go back again tomorrow to possibly trigger, with IUI on Thurs.

11/10: IUI #1 =100mg Clomid CD4-8 + pregnyl trigger + IUI = chemical pregnancy
1/11: IUI #2 = 5mg Femara + trigger + IUI = BFN
2/11: IUI #3 = injectibles + trigger + IUI = BFN

Re: "lead" follie - typical? (and my CD16 update)

  • My RE said that was common.  I originally had 9 follies growing during the first 2 u/s then 2 of them took over while the other 7 shrunk.

  • My RE's goal is to only have 1 lead follie. 2 is acceptable and if I had 3 or more, they may have cancelled the cycle as they strive to avoid the possibility of conceiving multiples.

    Good luck tomorrow !!!
