Okay, is my kid a freak or what?
He's almost 2.
At the end of almost every meal or snack, he saves the last bite of food in his mouth...for up to an HOUR!
He'll walk around with a piece of grape, cereal, mouth-full of milk, etc. He doesn't talk when he's hording and just plays normally, but has food/drink in his mouth.
What's up with that?

Re: Saving food (in mouth)
Ds does that, and then later he'll spit it out where ever he is at. I'm always finding, mushy, chewed up goldfish crackers. I say it's just a toddler thing, and they'll stop doing it once they get a little bigger.
My girlfriend's son does the same thing! He turned two in October. Your son is obviously advance;)
I really have no advice but, it is really gross. I was babysitting him one day and tried everything to get him to spit it out. Including offering a piece of candy. He totally refused. Finally, I got him to brush his teeth and I had to brush the food out of his mouth. Yuk!
Luckily it is only a phase, he is already starting to stop doing it. He is a little better with spitting out the food now. Good Luck!
