Sleeping prob's and peeing at night

I am only about 7 weeks now and ever since i found out i was prego i have slept horrible, woke up early and get up to pee 1 or 2 times a nite! Is anyone else dealing with this. I don't know how much of the insomnia is in my head as when I go onto my stomach i feel like I'm gonna smooch the baby or cause a miscarriage. Anyone else with these concerns or am i the only nut. It is affecting my sleep and I used to be a sleep champion so this is really weird for me. Does anyone know when the extreme peeing at nite will end ... it seems early I thought this only happened at the end of pregnancy? Help Wink

Re: Sleeping prob's and peeing at night

  • I also have insomnia after I wake up to pee.  Waking up to pee only gets worse at the end of pregnancy.  Those women who tell you to enjoy sleep now because you won't get it after the baby is born are wrong.  I woke up all the time to pee at the end.  Once my kid came out 3 hours of straight sleep felt like forever!!

  • I am in the same club. It is not fun but unfortunately it doesn't always go away. I woke up my whole pregnancy with DD to pee at all hours of the night. This time it is about the same going. I have noticed it helps to not eat after 6:30 or to drink anything after 7. That way usually everything I have to pee out is out and no sugar to keep me up. Sometimes it helps and I'll only get up once in the later hours of sleep time others I still get up a few times. GL
  • I am almost 8 weeks and I have slept horribly sinse I got my BFP. I am so uncomfrtable and I get up about 4 times a night to pee. Not sure thee is much I can do about it. I also have bad dreams and lie awake worried something will happen to this baby. I have had losses before so I spend too much time worrying.

Hoping we all get some sleep. ;)

  • I had a few nights of terrible sleeping, but I seem to be over it now.  I do however get up to pee at least once in the night (which I never did pre-bfp).

I really hope PP's that you can get over the sleepless nights.  I found that when I couldn't get back to sleep if I read for a little bit that would help slow my mind down enough to help.

  • I have to get up 1-2 times a night as well, and it usually takes me an hour or two to fall back asleep afterwords...needless to say I am exhausted. The whole not drinking anything at night doesn't work for me since I live in the midwest and it's soooo dry (we have 2 humidifiers and I still am super thirsty all the time). I can't really offer too much advice about the insomnia. Instead of worrying, I try to just think about after the baby is born, wondering if it's a boy or girl, decorating the nursery, etc., and that seems to help me drift back off to sleep. As for sleeping on your stomach, you're not going to hurt the baby. A friend of mine told me that if you are ever sleeping in a position that is bad for the baby, your body will wake you up.?

  • In my experience, the problems sleeping and getting up in the night just get worse and worse until the end.

  • If I am extremely exhausted (like last night), I'll sleep through the night but when I wake up in the morning, it's not fun.  I didn't get up to pee last night, but when I woke up I almost couldn't stand up straight.  My belly hurt soo much from the stress on my bladder.  Generally though, I can fall back asleep pretty easily when I get up to go.
