Blocked Tubes

I had an HSG this morning and found out that both tubes are completely blocked. They tried pushing more dye, had me turn on my sides several times--no movement. DH and I are shocked and upset--I really thought everything would be fine. This was all a lot easier to handle when it was just elevated Prolactin and Uterine Polyps. Now, I'm completely overwhelmed. Thanks for listening--I'm at work and we haven't told anyone else yet.

Oh I am so sorry sweetie. Did the Dr. speak to you afterwards, or will you have a separate consult with him/her? I am sure you have a ton of questions. Depending on what is causing the blockage sometimes surgery is an option and sometimes necessary (possibly even for IVF if it's a hydrosalpinx). I hope you get all your questions answered soon. I had a hydrosalpinx on my right and had surgery. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have them. ::HUGS::

Aw hun I am so sorry your upset. Just think..Many women go through this while trying to conceive. Did your doctor discuss a course of action with you?

What are your options?

I go in for my HSG tomorrow and have a feelings that is my issue

Did you have a regular ultra sounds to check ovaries and eggs? as anything else found then?

KEEP YOUR CHIN UP! I know this is stressful and heart breaking, you will get what you seek in the end

Thanks for your messages. I have a f/u with the doctor tomorrow and have a ton of questions, esp about surgery, IVF etc. It was such a strange feeling when the doctor, radiologist, and tech all got very quiet suddenly--I knew something was wrong and I looked at the screen and saw nothing moving into the tubes. Thanks again!

I am SO sorry, and I am so sorry that you had to go through all that extra. It must have been so painful. Hopefully they will be able to offer you some solutions tomorrow.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I wish you the best of luck when you talk this over with your doctor. Both my tubes are blocked...well, on is totally blocked and the other is not functioning normally because the dye went in halfway, but didn't come out the other end, so my doctor classified my dx as both tubes blocked. I was pretty devestated too when the doctor told me during the test. I felt helpless and shocked. Give it some time to sink, then get a plan together with your doctor to move forward. I'm sorry hun! The same thing happened to me in July. HSG revealed both my tubes were blocked and I was devastated. At least you know your diagnosis. I hope the next appointment goes better for you! Don't worry, it does get better!!

Sorry to hear that. I have 1 blocked tube and the other is of questionable quality (lap next week to find out). Hopefully your doctor will have more information for you tomorrow. Best of luck!

Ugh, that's such an awful feeling when they all go quiet I'm so sorry about your news- I hope you get can get a game plan that you can feel comfortable with moving forward. Let us know how your f/u goes tomorrow.
