Adley has her orthopedic appointment tomorrow to determine if she has scoliosis and what type of scoliosis she may have. According to my friend who is a PT/OT, there are two types - structural (the type that may need a rod placed surgically to fix) and positional (muscular and can be fixed with PT). She said that it is most likely positional because babies with torticullis and scoliosis normally present with positional scoliosis. We are hoping that she is right and that she has positional scoliosis, instead of structural -- although I am wishing it was neither. The curve is easily seen, so if it is not scoliosis, I don't know what it could be.
I know that scoliosis is not the end of the world, but I just feel like poor Ad has had enough already. I just want everything to be fine -- although I realize that probably will never be the case. She hates been prodded and poked and has an aversion to doctors lately. Any smooth appointment and positive results dust would be greatly appreciated!!
