I took Elise in today. Pedi was very reassuring and didnt seem to concerned. she basically told me to continue doing everything I've been doing.
About the spinal tap, she said that she wouldnt do that to Elise. It's only done if the baby is less than 2 months old and if the source of the fever is unknown. In this case, we know it's just the common cold that she caught from family members. However, the after hours nurse said it was standard ER procedure for any baby under 12 weeks with a fever so she scared the crapola out of me!
I think Elise will be fine soon. She seems to be her happy self, again, today. My mom even mentioned that she thought it could be teething since she's been drooling and gumming her fists a lot which reminded me of Mel's recent post ab out Isabella's recent fever. But, in Elise's case she is congested and teary-eyed.
Re: pedi appt
I'm glad the dr doesn't seem concerned, I know it's scary when our little ones are not feeling well!
FYI, teething can also cause a runny nose, and also an upset stomach
I'm glad she reassured you about the spinal tap! I hope Elise continues to feel better though!!
