I know that freshly expressed BM can be left at room temperature for up to 10 hours, but do I still warm it up if I bottle it when I'm out? I may use it within an hour of expression or more. EBFers and EPers, what do you do?
My LO would drink room temp milk with no problem, so I never warmed it up. If I was going to warm it up, I'd do so within 10 minutes of giving it to him. If I warmed it up (after being at room temp for more than 4 hours), but he didn't drink it within the hour, I'd throw it away. That's just me.
All my milk is frozen now, so once it is out at room temp, he drinks it warm right away or not at all. Such a waste. Sigh.
I don't usually warm it up if it's room temp. DS HATES cold milk. I think it gives him a brain freeze personally, but he'll drink warm or room temp milk. So I just skip the warming when it's fresh and hasn't been refrigerated.
