Has anyone given their LO instant oatmeal?

Like in the packets? I haven't, but we have some of the maple & brown sugar kind and was curious.

  • I haven't. Don't know which brand you have but most of them have a ton of sugar (HFCS) and are pretty bastardized forms of the natural grain. Poor oatmeal :-(

  • Quaker is what we have at home. Yeah, I was wondering about the sugar content. I did look online though and it appears that Walmart has a sugar-free version, but then you have artificial sweetners.

  • I've been giving F the Reduced Sugar Quaker instant pretty much since he started oatmeal. I didn't really think it was too bad especially since it has lower sugar not artificial sweetener. I figure I was raised on the full sugar kind and I ended up ok.

This. We make her oatmeal or a yummy 7 grain - one serving will last her 2-3 breakfasts depending. I add cinnamon, Ginger, applesauce, jam, pumpkin butter or whatever else sounds good.
