My quick birth story :)

Sorry it has taken me so long to post this but I have been super busy with visitors and baby

. So my due date was 1/3/11 but my water broke at exactly 3:08 am on 12/24/10. I called the hospital to see if they wanted me to go in and they said yes even though I wasn't having any contractions. So I checked in and they confirmed my water had broken and I was dialated 3 cm so they checked me in. When I was hooked up the print out was reading that I was having contractions every 6 minutes, I however was not in pain, felt more like menstral cramping. I was relatively pain free until about 11 am, thats when I hit hard labor. Baby was sunnyside up so I was having intense back labor. I asked for my epidural and that took about 45 minutes for the anestesiologist to come. I was 4 cm dialated right before I got my epi. Well.... the epi didn't work, or should I say only worked on my right side not my left. The nurse told me to wait 45 minutes to see if maybe the medicine just needed to saturate better. Well, 45 minutes and still nothing, by this point I was in very intense labor. So they said they would get the doc to re-position my epi. The nurse went to check me and I was 10cm dialated! There was no time to fix it I had to start pushing. It all happened so fast. Everyone thought I would have the baby on Christmas because I am a first time mommy, NOPE. It took about 30 minutes of pushing and little Anthony was here. He was born at 2:05 pm on Christmas Eve, weighing 7lbs 6oz. I did have a second degree tear, but I honestly could not feel them stitching me up. I couldn't be happier with my early Christmas present!
