I'm 13 weeks pregnant and currently with W. PA Women's Health who deliver at Magee. Anyone have experience with this group of OBs? I'm very interested in a natural birth and the one OB I broached this topic with seemed very happy with that. I've only seen 2 of the others so far and did not discussed birth options with them.
Were you happy with Magee in general?
Re: Western PA Women's Healthcare and Magee in general
This is where I went also and LOVED them! Also, delivering at Magee was a great experience.
Dr. Woo from this practice delivered my son via emergency c-section and my husband and I were so thankful and impressed at the level of care and professionalism from all of the doctors in this practice. This obstetrician was faced with some tough decisions involving my delivery and ended up selecting a plan that was safest and best for both my baby and myself. I would recommend them to anyone I know.
The only negative thing I have to say about Magee is that because my son had a short stay in the NICU, I was placed on an oncology floor so that I would not be saddened by the other mothers who were able to have their babies with them. However, an oncology floor certainly is not a happy place and I would have much rather heard crying babies than the inmate from a local correctional facility down the hall screaming because she wasn't permitted to watch television. However, my overall experience there was a good one and Magee is certainly an exceptional facility. I hope all goes well with your pregnancy!
