Question for charters

The time has come for me to start charting my cycles. I am reading TCOYF and took my first temp this morning. I don't know what my options are for keeping track of my charts--paper? some kind of website like SparkPeople but for charts? anything I can sync up with my iPhone?

How do you like your method? Would you choose it again if you were starting over? Any advice for a newbie?

For the iPhone, I use an app called Free menstrual calendar. It's free (obviously) and has boxes to record your temp, CM, other notes, etc.

Ditto this! I never paid for it, but i may or may not have made up fake email address to get free days through the referrel program. They also randomly give you free days every month or so.

ditto fertilityfriend. they have an iphone app that syncs with your web version, so you can just enter it on your iphone but then check the web for more detailed graphs and stuff (the app is just some basic stuff).

Ditto. You can click on the link in my sig to get there and see my charts. My temps are kinda wacked with the meds and shots, but you can see the jist of it.

I love the FF mobile site that I use from my iPhone. The iPhone also makes a great night-light as my BBT thermometer isn't back-lit. I haven't felt like the upgrade was worth it on FF and they give you free 5-day VIP trials every so often anyway. I might feel differently as we get further into TTC though.

I accidentally got in on the beta testing of TCOYF's online charting tool, and they gave me 3 years for free (bonus) so that's what I use.

Try not to let charting mess with your head too much! It can be addictive for sure. Working in the ER, I can tell you for most people, it's not that hard to get pregnant apparently I had a hard time temping because I worked/slept odd hours with Abby and with Em I worked nights. However, based on CM alone, I've always know exactly when I was ovulating. It's not so cut and dry for everyone but I have EWCM for 2 days of every cycle. 12-14 days later, AF shows up. Unless I'm pregnant. Then the EWCM continues for about Ohhhh.... 9 months.

I used Fertility Friend too, I thought it was awesome!

My TCOYF either came with software on a CD or maybe they have a website & you sign up there - sorry, that was almost 5 yrs ago(!!) and I've forgotten. But I used the TCOYF tracking charts. Ultimately, I ended up using clear blue easy ovulation predictor kit (sticks) b/c I was not very consistent with my temps. Worked like a charm so didn't even bother charting with #2 - went straight to OPK.

I used the software that came with the book. I thought it provided everything I needed for both charting to avoid and conceive. But, I also didn't feel it was necessary to have access to my chart throughout the day. Good luck!

i like fertility friend - its a good website that also offers some tutorials that are similar to TCOYF. i found that the paper charts were hard for me to keep on top of if i was traveling or if i left the house before charting my temp. fertility friend is accessible on my phone and from and computer so i chose to stick with that program. You can sign up using the link at the bottom of my siggy.

I also use clear blue OPK and track my cervical fluid to make sure I get our timing right. We've been TTC since July and its not as easy as I thought it would be so I like knowing that at least I took advantage of my cycle.
