Babies: 0 - 3 Months

All they do is eat, sleep, and poop...

That's all you hear for 9 months! But nobody ever mentioned how effing hard it is to get them to sleep! They are babies, babies are supposed to sleep! So why has my little peanut been awake since 6pm? We did bedtime routine but I think the bath only makes her more awake! Who else is still trying to get LO down for the night?

  • Just got mine down but I don't think it will last for long as he has been eating very poorly tonight...next time I am trying the bottle instead of the boob. Good luck with your LO.

  • Stupid me walked into the bedroom to check on LO. I didn't touch her, just peeked and of course she woke up! She demanded to be fed and now I'm listening to DH on the baby monitor sing lullabies to her which is so freaking adorable!

Francesca Pearl is here!             Josephine Hope is almost 3!
  • We started with the bottle tonight, and after she was up for another 2 hours ended up giving the boob as well... so much for my pumping to store that I normally do at this time.

Awe, I love listening to H sing/talk to her. He has no idea I turn the monitor on while he is in there... Hehehe

  • We've tried putting J down any earlier than 8 pm and he just won't do it. Normally he doesn't even start to look sleepy until 8:30 and we put him to bed at 9. I tried putting him to bed a 7 a few times when I caught him yawning and he just fussed until I came and got him and then went down with no issue at 9. Oh well, I guess I have a night owl.

Are you able to put him down at the same time every night?  So far Caprica doesn't have a time that she's sleepy that's consistent, just after every feeding.

  • Honestly I didn't really have a schedule until DD started sleeping through the night, until then I just took her lead and just watched the clock to help with trying to figure out what she needed (she ate every 2 hours sometimes a little sooner). after she started sleeping through the night consistently it was much easier for me to get her on a schedule because she woke up around the same time every morning, but baths do wake DD up more than put her to sleep too, so I usually give her a bath the feeding before her last.  I'll bathe her between 5:30 and 6:30 (depending on feeding time) then just cuddle and relax until next feeding, and read her a story, then she falls asleep with no problem. •  Last night was almost textbook perfect. But right now, LO has me playing the paci game.
Time for me to hit the hay. Maybe he will take my example and finally fall into a deep sleep.

  • YES! He's been awake since 5'ish p.m. and had bath, jammies, dark room. It's 10:15 p.m. and I'm SO done. Why is he having problems all of a sudden? We used to put him in his bed and wha la. Now we are using the swing - we never used to - and that only works 1/2 the time to get him to bed!!!
  • Seriously!  My DS is usually a good night sleeper but the chances of me getting him down for a nap during the day are slim to none.  I swear I spend my entire day trying to get him to close his eyes.  It usually works for 5 minutes, then he wakes back up!

  • I remember feeling like this and then one night she just STTN.  It was amazing (except for the engorgement).  That was around 5 weeks, it happened a little more each week after that.  And since a couple days before Christmas, she's been consistently STTN.

I hope it happens for you all.

  • I been following DS cues.

He likes to take a nap between 10-12 in the morning. and wakes up to eat, then he plays for a couple hours (this is the one that varies) then nap

then he is awake in the evenings from 6ish-10pm

I'll swaddle him, feed him, and read to him. then we get the paci, and I lay him down sometimes he wakes up and lays there staring. other times he will sleep until 3am to nurse!
