At my last appointment in December my doctor said I havent gained any weight and that my uterus was still really low to be as far as I am. She sent me for a due date verification u/s which was perfectly normal, she is perfect in every way. Her length and weight is right on the spot and my due date is right on the money. My first u/s pushed my due date back like a week but this time she was on the doctors predictions, I guess she just started out small.
I guess Im just paranoid because my doctor acted weird that I havent gained anything. I have gained a little over a half a pound but thats it. I do have a baby bump and I can feel my lil cupcake kicking away in there. She said we'd see how it goes and see if I gain anything by my next appt which is the 10th of Jan. I stepped on the scale and still nothing. Im wondering what shes going to say at my next appt. Is anybody else in this boat? Im def eating so I dont get it.
Re: Has Anybody Else Not Gained Weight Yet?
At my appt yesterday I'd gained a little over 3 lbs. I started out at 144 and 5'2", and when I asked my OB at the first appt she said I'll need to gain 25-40 lbs. Personally I'd rather stick to the lower end of that. But, I eat when I'm hungery and don't get a lot of exercise so I have no idea how I'm not a huge as a house already. Last night I just kept looking at my bump and bbs and asking how in the world I'd only gained 3 lbs. My doctor didn't seem concerned and the anatomy scan we had looked normal in every way. Baby was only 10 oz which is normal. I'm also carrying VERY low, which the doctor didn't seem concerned about either. Her comment when she was trying to find the hb and kept having to try lower and lower was that I "won't even be able to sneeze." (I assume she meant without peeing myself). I can feel LO kicking away and was able to see it moving a ton when we had the u/s. I'm sure the weight will catch up with us eventually, we still have 20 weeks to go.

I blame the wine too- I am only up one lb, doctor isnt concerned. Baby is healthy and kicking like crazy
THIS!!! Not that its my proudest personal fact, but I used to be quite the drinker pre-pregnancy (big time in beer and wine too, no liquor). Maybe 700 calories a day for alcohol. I blame this on the fact I am over 20 weeks and gained 1 pound.
I would not worry about weight gain, unless its grossly grossly high. My OB said I will gain what I need to when I need to.
I have to say ... It's heartening to see this post. I am up about 5 pounds now, but I'm still just 125 and 5'7. I feel like I should gain more weight, but if I do what they say and put on 1 pound a week for the remainder I'd be right on track to gain 25 pounds. So far, my OB has been unconcerned about what little weight I've gained, but I can't help but feel a twinge of concern. Good to see I'm not alone.
AND, I think that notion of no wine is probably the best point yet! I used to drink 2 glasses a day, so I'm sure that's playing a role.
