Success after IF

I'm thinking it's the trigger.

First, DH got home last night and did not see a line.  I proved him wrong, though, when I checked it again this morning after the test had dried and there was a clear line that even he could see.  This is an FRER - I've used them enough times to know they are reliable, and I have never gotten an evap.  Plus, the line I saw last night did show up within the 3 minute timeframe; it just didn't get darker until it had dried.

This morning I took another and it was the same deal.  A line, but crazy faint, baaaaaarely visible...like, a shadow of a line (but within 3 mins) and DH, again, did not see it.  But it looked exactly the same as last night's, so I expect it to dry darker.

So, given that today's test was not darker 8 hours after the 1st test, and with much more concentrated urine, I'm thinking it's the trigger.

Today I am 11dpiui and 12dpt(rigger).

We shall see.

Re: I'm thinking it's the trigger.

  • honestly - i don't think it is trigger.  A line this early is going to be light........so I am saying congrats!

  • After 12 days, despite it being light, it still sounds quite possible to me that it's a legit BFP line. :)  Speaking as someone who's taken a ton of HPTs right around 11-14dpo when I'm not sure if it's the shot or possible implantation, you can't really compare different times of day, IMO.  (And, not to enable you ;), but for me the second morning pee was darker than the first -- I had a freak out one morning when the line was all but gone back in April a couple days before my first beta!)  So, I obviously can't promise anything, but I haven't lost hope for you...just the opposite, in fact!  Sending you SO many BEST wishes, SeaSoul!

No beta scheduled, but I might ask for one this time!  Don't imagine they'd agree to do it before 14dpiui, though.

  • Here are my thoughts with my experience - I bought a 25 pack of IC's this cycle, so now I'm using them liberally. I know the trigger was out of my system by 6dpo, so I know the bfp's I've been getting are not trigger. I tested yesterday morning and got a shadow of a line. I tested at night and got a faint line which dried darker overnight. I tested this morning and when comparing the dry test vs. the new, wet one, the new one is probably a shade lighter, but still there. But when I compare it to yesterday morning's test, it's much darker (but still quite faint).

I'm also not personally convinced that FMU is always the best - I've seen enough people saying their lines were darker with second morning urine or in the evenings to wonder if it's true for everyone. Test tomorrow morning, or even tonight, and compare it to only the test taken 24 hours before. IMO, 8 hours isn't enough to overcome variances in dilution or whatever.

  • I really don't think it's the trigger.

Did you see my post last night in your OP? The first few tests I took the line was super faint and didn't really get darker until closer to when AF was due.

  • hcg triggers stay in your system longer than ovidrel. This I know.  Also, keep in mind that your pee is "behind" what your blood would measure. It doesn't get the message right away. Pee is delayed. lol.

That said, both ovidrel and hcg triggers were always out of my system by 7-10 days past, and even my FRER lines with this pregnancy were VERY faint for even 3 days. I have them all photographed for obsessive people like ourselves, I'll edit them and post it later when I have a sec.

I'm tempted to say congrats, and hope like nuts a good egg got hit! ;-)

  • I would think the trigger would be gone by now. I hope this is a BFP for you. GL!!

Yeah, I have had the same experience...my last pregnancy (m/c) I had super faint lines in the beginning - way fainter than I'd had with Cal.  But these take the cake.  Not sure what to think!

  • I really don't think it is the trigger.  You wouldn't see a hint of anything at this point, IMO.  I'll say congrats - but save the (!!!!) for when you get a pregnant on a digital.

  • I'm going to say its not the trigger either!! If it was it would be stark...instead it will slowly get darker if its a BFP! Hoping for the best!

  • I would trust a line today. Trigger should be gone.  Sounds very promsing to me : )

Plus we triggered the same day and I tested this morning and there was definitely no second line for me so my trigger is gone.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear this...here's hoping a line shows up in the next couple of days!  Did you have HCG 10,000 units??

Thanks! I am trying to stay hopeful.  I actually got Ovidrel and I saw the post that HCG stays around longer BUT I still think your line is a line!!!! I hope so!!!

  • Congrats!!!  I think it wouldn't be the trigger and this early the line might not get darker from 8hrs difference.  KWIM?

     good luck!

Back in here trying to re-read what I wrote because I'm a jackhole and clearly can't practice what I preach :-P

Anyway, I didn't really "announce" per se. I mentioned it in my post from yesterday about c/ps. But I'm not going to consider it a "real" bfp this time around until I get doubling betas. Two lines is just a step in the right direction. Of course, none of this is stopping me from POAS like a crazy lady...just trying not to get attached to the idea of a bfp before it's looking like it has a chance to work out!

  • I don't think it's the trigger.  Three IUIs and three IVF cycles, and my trigger was always out by 7dpiui or er -- like, a stark white line.  CONGRATS!!!
