first trip to L&D (long)

Earlier I posted about my holy swollen feet. Well, after laying down for an hour and consulting with Dr. Google, I became increasingly concerned because the swelling was so sudden. I ended up calling my doctor, who happened to be at the hospital, and told him about my symptoms. He is pretty conservative and asked that I come down to the hospital to get checked out, just as a precaution.

DH and I got there around 8:45 and they hooked me up to a baby monitor and placed a blood pressure cuff on my arm. LO was super busy and his kicks were making all sorts of noise. His HR held steady around 150ish. My blood pressure was taken every 15 minutes, I gave a urine sample, and they took blood (from a vein in my hand - ouch). My BP was highest as soon as I got there, but eventually came down, and there was no protein in my urine. All of my labs came back negative, so DH and I were discharged a few hours later.

Possible suspect? Hibachi steakhouse food I had for dinner on Sunday night - way too much sodium for me apparently. So, I left with a discharge form that said to lower my sodium intake.

The only positive was that the nurses and my doc were wonderful and made me a little less anxious for the "big day". Also, DH and I haven't officially done the hospital tour yet, but I suppose there's no need to now that we know where we are supposed to go!
