Please Rec your fav Nursing Bras/Tanks

I have some night nursing bras from Motherhood that I think I will take to the hospital, but wanted to get some tanks.  The tanks they had at Motherhood were SOOO short and they didn't have my size at Target.  I think I would wear a M or a L, but they were really picked over...

My mom got me 4 nursing bras from JC Penney, but I wore one today and was already SO uncomfortable.  PP, I wore a 34DD...I was making them work, but they are just way too snug now.  The nursing bras my mom got me were 36DD, but I felt like they dug into my skin everywhere.  Unfortunately, that is the biggest size they sold :(

I want tanks that are longer and soft...easy to unhook...and where the strap doesn't fly back when you unhook it (like the ones on the Old Navy website....)

Please recommend!

  • try the BF board.

Also your boobs will prob change size after your milk comes in, so you may not want to stock up on too many yet. (also when your rib cage goes back down that can also change your size, i was a 32 A prepg, a 34/36B preg, and now a 32C at 9 months.

I'm smaller and i am a sahm (so it would be different if i worked) but i live in my target tanks. I just noticed the other day that target has some nursing/maternity crossover tanks that would be good for the first few wks until your uterus goes down. For right after birth i would get some crossover tanks or sleep bras.

  • I've seen lots of recs for the Target tanks. I put them on my amazon wishlist and got one for Christmas. I haven't tried it on yet, but it looks plenty long. If you do decide you want the Target ones, they're easy to order on online.

  • With DS I lived in the Target tanks at home, even though they were small.  I didn't wear them out in public much though cause they didn't give much support.  I had some from MM & JCP and found them to be 99% similar in size and material to Target but usually more $$$.

Sleeping bras were a joke IMO.

I invested in 2 good bras though...one from the brand Bravado (very nice support for big gals) and a Medela one.  If you google them, you'll be able to research styles and prices.  Bravados can be pricey, but believe me they kept things in place comfortably.
