This is blunt: I'm 7 days PP and haven't had pooed yet. I've been taking the Colace since it was offered and even took a Dulcolax today (lowest dose). I'm really uncomfortable and think that my full intestines may be contributing to discomfort near my internal incisions. How long did it take for you to go and do you have any suggestions on things to try?
Re: Blunt post C-section constipation question
it took me about 8-10 days PP. I was so uncomfortable and then scared to go. My stomach was really hurting bad from needing to go. When I did finally go, it was not that bad, and I felt a million times better. After the first initial poo I was going much more than I ever have, it was a great relief for my stomach.
Just try to drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies. I think I also took some stool softener. HTH
Thanks ladies! I finally went but it was a total flipping nightmare getting there. I'm taking Colace every day until things are back to normal - good to know I'm not the only one.

Fwiw, I've heard peppermint tea can affect your milk supply if you're BFing

They wouldn't let me leave the hospital until I pooped.. SO they gave me a latxitve. which didn't do anything for me! but I squeezed out one small little pebble..
When I got home, I sent DH out and get me enema. and that worked WONDERS. hurt like a B!tch but I pooped, and felt better.

Like most things, it's when it becomes excessive, but if someone is having problems going, I wanted to make sure they knew that before they started drinking it by the gallon, ykwim?
