So I know we have only been trying for 2 months but I feel like I should do something else to monitor my ovulation. I was all set to temp but when I got home with my thermometer, DH looked at me like I had 3 heads. He said that we should do a cycle without anything! Not even OPKs like I have in the past. He thinks we just need to have fun! Would you ladies give DHs plan a shot or should I go along with temping like I had planned?

I mean you obviously need to be on the same page, but men don't always have a good understanding at how our bodies work and why it's important to know that.
Maybe you could compromise - temp to get the hang of it this cycle, but not "use" the information - maybe no OPK's, b/c temping will only tell you after you O, not before. And then have fun with DH this month. This way you can start to get used to reading more of your body's signals and get used to temping and then you can get serious next cycle.
Good luck.

I liked the compromise mentioned about just temping.
However, if my DH saying that meant we'd be BDing every few days or so (maybe more around the likely O time), I'd be game for his plan.

Wise advice! You could temp to see when you O, but it obviously won't serve to help you plan your FWP. This shouldn't affect your DH and if he understands that it won't help you with the timing this month, he might feel differently about it.
Good luck.

My DH thinks I'm crazy too. I feel a little stupid temping and using OPKs when he's around to be honest. He always makes fun of me when my 5:30 alarm goes off when I am not working that day. He says "time for your vag temp!" He knows that I take my temp orally but he still gets a kick out of saying that.
I like the idea of still charting but not using OPKs to get an idea of when you O.
