Protest Crying

anyone having problems with this at bedtime? My DH and I sleep trained my DD about a month ago, now most of the time when I put her down for the night she cries for about a half hour. When H puts her down she usually never cries. We have the same routine every night. What do you think it could be? I hate that she cries so much still. My DD is 6 and a half months old.

Re: Protest Crying

  • I'm having the same problem with DD! When I put her down she cries and I am back and forth to her room or calm her down for about a half hour before she finally will fall asleep. When DH puts her down she goes right to sleep. We do everything the same. I don't know why she cries for me but not for him!

  • Are you BFing?  My DD does this too and I think it's partly because she knows that I have the ability to nurse her and so she doesn't settle as well.

I FF. So I don't think its a food issue. I think maybe mine might be a seperation anxiety thing? Not sure about OP.

  • We have been going thru a very similar thing, Ive actually posted about it a couple times because I was so confused and frustrated about the whole thing. Luckily tonight, (knocks on coffee table) she went down without one tear. Im not sure if it has been teething (no teeth yet), seperation anxiety, milestone growth spurt, or just a phase. You're not alone, and have peace knowing it won't last forever! Good luck! :)
