Sydney has been "shrugging", ie: leaning her head to the side while raising her shoulder. She has been doing it for about the last week. Yesterday and today, it has been more noticeable. All on the right side. I am pretty sure (like 95%) that it's her teeth. Probably her molars shifting? But, of course, I can't help thinking that it might be her ear. She has no fever and she isn't cranky.
I don't want to take her to the Pedi. Her birthday is Thursday and I just KNOW if we go there, she will end up sick. Probably not the best rationale, but I am pretty sure she doesn't need to go. What do you think?
Re: Quick question...
Have you tried giving her a dose of Tylenol/Motrin just to see if she stops doing it? To me, that would indicate if it's a teeth thing and not an ear thing.
Whoa.. holy big siggy pic... fixing that!
Drooling is in full effect. We are getting #7 and #8 now though (#7 is almost all the way through). So she is teething pretty hardcore anyway. I will break out the frozen teething ring and see if she wants it. She usually doesn't, but maybe.
I forgot to mention that when she was "brushing her teeth" this morning, the toothbrush went all the way back on her right side and she started chomping away. She was drooling and chewing in a trance.
BrideBuddies - Stupid question for you. Why would Tylenol working indicate tooth pain and not ear pain? I told DH about the "experiement" and he asked me that very question. I said maybe because ear pain is worse and Tylenol wouldn't touch it or the fact that it's an infection. But, I donno. Der... why?
Edited to add... it seems to be working. Super cranky now, but no shrugging. Go figure.
I have the same question about Tylenol. I also have a different opinion from everyone. I would call the pedi and ask to speak with her/him or nurse and describe them the situation. They may have an answer for you right away, and they may tell you that they don't need to see her now. But if they do, why do you think she will get sick from a visit? B/c there are usually a lot of children in the waiting room?
I think she'll get sick because I am completely paranoid. I just assumed that since it wouldn't be a "well" visit, they would make me come in on the sick side (two different waiting rooms) and hence all the sick kids.
